RNM – REGISTRO NACIONAL MIGRATÓRIO
Students who are accepted for an exchange program at FAUUSP must provide the visa corresponding to their main activity in Brazil. For more information, look for the nearest Brazilian Consulate or Embassy in your city.
In addition, all foreigners must apply for the RNM, that is, the National Migratory Registry (formerly RNE – National Registry of Foreigners).
Important: The deadline to obtain this Registration is 90 days from the day you entered Brazil.
In the case of students who have VITEM IV (study visa), registration based on a consular visa must be requested.

It is a fundamental document for opening a bank account, having a cell phone line and applying for a student ticket.
How to apply for CPF? (if you are already in Brazil)
Step 1
Fill out the CPF Request Form, link: https://servicos.receita.fazenda.gov.br/servicos/cpf/inscricaocpfestrangeiro/default.asp
Step 2
Send an email to atendimentorfb.08@rfb.gov.br containing:
A) CPF Request Form completed and signed
B) Copy of your passport’s bio page
C) Take a ID selfie, where you hold your ID document (passport) next to your face
D) Birth Certificate or Marriage Certificate (or equivalent document for foreigners), if the official identification document with photo does not include the place of birth, filiation and date of birth; and
Note 1: In the body of the email, provide your complete address in Brazil
Note 2: Additional documents may be requested by the attendant.

It’s the public transport ticket that grants 50% discount on bus and subway fares.
All students are eligible for this ticket.
How to apply for the student ticket?
1.The student must have the following data:
– CPF
– RNM (and the date of issue)
– Address in São Paulo (with zip code)
– Enrollment completed in USP disciplines (see our webpage about this topic)
Send all this data to the international office (international.fau@usp.br and incoming.fau@usp.br)
2. After updating your data in USP’s systems, our international office will notify you that the student can request to fill out the PRIP (Pró-Reitoria de Inclusão e Pertencimento) form:

3. After 5 working days of sending the form, the student can check if the Student Ticket request is already available at the link below:
https://sptrans.documentodoestudante.com.br/elegibilidade
If so, the student must fill out the application on the SPTrans website and pay the Ticket issuance fee.
Note: If the student has already obtained a Student Card in the previous year, he / she will need to renew it to use it in the following year.
To do this, the student must repeat steps 2 and 3.
